Background
The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) is responsible for reviewing
government expenditures and ensuring financial accountability in
Nigeria. The committee does this by examining reports from the Auditor
General and investigating the use of public funds. As technology reshapes
public service, PAC partnered with Adaptive Solutions to explore how AI can improve audit systems and oversight
Challenge
Members of the PAC needed to understand how AI could be applied in real-time auditing, especially for detecting misuse of public funds and anomalies, improving transparency, & making more data-driven decisions
Solution
In November 2024, Adaptive Solutions facilitated a strategic workshop for the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Nigeria’s House of Representatives in Kigali, Rwanda, titled “Leveraging AI for Enhanced Auditing“ —a timely and strategic topic as governance increasingly intersects with technology
